ok, there were 2 horses that fell in the first race at Cheltenham today, one got up and walked away fine. The other got up and staggered and then went down again, screens went up and after about ten mins, you saw all of the people holding the screens up struggling to keep them up as the horse had obviously gone down again for good.:( Does anyone know what horse it was?

I was already well on the way to full on intoxication...

God, hate that moment when they get up and cant stand =[ seeing that horse fall and break its leg at Gatcombe is an image etched into my mind. xxxx

RIP :(

Went on friday with college, one horse Mad Jack Duncan pulled up sharply and apparently brokedown, think he was pts :( And another pulled up after the first fence, but I think he was ok...

Doesn't only happen in jump races unfortunatly :/ Was watching one of our horses race on tv the other day and another horse who was running on well was quickly pulled up and sharply ran to the other side of the track. Asked the travelling head lad the next day if he knew what had happened to him and was told he had broken a leg and was put down :(

Yep flat races are just as dangerous, will never forget seeing a horse breakdown and fell, jockey fell off but the horse carry on running with half it's leg hanging off, finished the race with it's leg dangling and was obviously pts :( RIP Mi Rey :(

Whenever people tell me that jump racing is cruel I always remember the worst breakdown I saw on the tv. Two year old, on its first start on the flat, galloping towards the camera in a maiden race and one leg just went. No jumps. Nothing reckless. Just galloping.

Maybe we need to start breeding some bone back into TBs.
