Chepstow Jump Season Opener - which day?

A friend and I are having a trip to Bath for a few days in October and have spotted that it coincides with the Jump Season Opener at Chepstow so we are thinking of heading there for a day.

The question is which is the better day to visit - Friday or Saturday? Is there a significant difference or should we not pre purchase tickets and just go on whichever has the better weather forecast?! Might I regret not buying tickets and be faced with queues if I don't?

Any expert input would be appreciated!

I couldn't tell you which is the better day for Chepstow but it's probably better to be out of Bath on a Saturday. It's usually rammed to the point of unpleasant (I don't do crowds if I can help it) on a Saturday, particularly if the rugby team are playing at home.

Good to know, thank you!
Our other likely day out will be Cheddar, including rock climbing and caving, on whichever day we don't go to the races so looks like we are safely away on the Saturday whatever way round we go.

Check the severn crossing website for scheduled weekend closures on the M48. It's a p.i.t.a if you have to detour.
