Cheques being abolished

Almost all of the Irish champ (dog) shows you can enter online now and have been able to for a couple of years. Ditto the UK ones, it is only the Open and breed club shows that seem to be lagging behind in online entries in both affiliations.

The thing that does nark me is that you have to pay extra for entering online yet it cuts down there human resource time tremendously. Particularly the ones now that you even have to download and print off your own exh passes for instead of getting them by snail mail. That alone saves the shows a pretty penny in human manpower, printing costs, and postage.

I thought a business got charged for paying in cheques but bank transfers were free?

Personally, my husband is self employed and it is far easier when he is paid via bank transfer as opposed to a cheque. It is a total pain to get to a Bank where I live, so there is always a delay in paying them in - or I end up posting them.

Eight years is a long time away, card machines will probably be cheaper for the business by then.
