I lost my beautiful boy to grass sickness last night. I am so deeply heart broken.

I have came away with a lock of his mane and was wondering if anybody knew any companies that make them into bracelets?

OP I am so, so sorry for your loss. To lose a horse in this way is awful and my heart really goes out to you, massive hugs to you at this sad time xxxI will give my horse a massive hug tonight and cherish him.

I'll lend you for a little while,
a horse of mine, God said.
For you to love while he's alive,
and mourn for when he's dead.

It may be one or twenty years,
or days or months, you see.
But will you, til I take him back,
Take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and should his stay be brief,
you'll have those treasured memories,
as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught on earth
I want this horse to learn.

I've looked the wide world over
in my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
with trust, I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love?
Nor think the labor vain.
Nor hate me when I come
to take him back again?

I know you'll give him tenderness
and love will bloom each day.
And for the happiness you've known,
you will forever-grateful stay.

But should I come and call for him
much sooner than you'd planned,
you'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and maybe understand

There's not a lot I can say to you other than I've lost two to EGS in the last 3 years. Approaching the 2 year anniversary of losing my horse of a life time and it sadly doesn't get any easier. I'm sorry for your loss and the heart numbing pain you are facing trying to get over it. You have my sympathies.

There's a really supportive FB group called raising grass sickness awareness which you could join.

Very sorry for your loss. I lost my girl last April to suspected EGS, I found her at 7am and by 6pm, she'd gone and I was and still am truly devastated.
My mum got my bracelet done for me so unsure where but she found them on fb.

I used tail end jewellery for my bracelet from my precious girl's tail. Lovely company u to deal with and a really high quality product.

I'm so sorry - a friend lost her mare of a lifetime to it and says the devastation of finding her, realising what it was and knowing the prognosis was so terribly poor still haunts her. Its a dreadful illness and I hope that one day we have a better understanding of what causes it and how we can cure it. Thoughts and hugs with you xxx

Someone sent this to me when Nadia went and I sobbed like a baby, and still just made me sob.

Thank you for all the replies. Yes, going through the process is awful and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. It's such a shocking, heart breaking experience.

Thank you for the bracelet suggestions and may everyone be happy and healthy.

So very sorry to read this, my thoughts are with you.

I too have used from the tail jewellery and found them fab to deal with and the products are brilliant quality
