I love any colour tbh, although do have a soft spot for creamellos and palaminos.

Amber is my first chestnut and is not a "typical" chestnut mare- she's much worse LOL. But her behaviour is more to do with her upbringing I belive. On the other hand Septre is bay and can be very moody.

I just have a knack of finding quirky horses

I'm not a big Chestnut fan and if all things were equal I would opt for any other colour, however would go for the Chestnut if it were better quality.

...but Chambon...your Chestnut is lovely and I would make an exception for one that looked like yours.

Personally the 2 colours I prefer are dark chestnut and black - current boy is black (and a beggar to keep from looking dusty) foal we are looking at it chesnut and a filly! Personally hoping second potential foal (which is due any day) is a colt as I prefer geldings/stallions to ride but if it isn't then we will go with which one looks to have best conf and quality

Prior to the current lad I've had 2 bay mares - a bright bay and a v dark bay both good in their own ways.

OH's mare is a chestnut with roany patches and can be a typical chestnut mare but it wouldn't put me off buying one - may dark bare was a typical mare too

I would subscribe to the old saying "A good horse is never a bad colour" - but given the choice I have to admit chestnut is my favourite colour! My stallion is a chestnut with that amazing iridescent/metallic sheen that you sometimes get in Arabs - IMO there is nothing more beautiful...

I searched high and low for my dream chestnut Arab mare with 4 white socks!!! Apart from my first Arab X welsh mare (I still have her) she's the best thing ever! They both are my world!! I love their coats in summer!!! They ripple with gold!

Here are Shantih and Jasmine:

Whilst I know that 'quality has no colour', I am not a huge fan of chestnuts. I am fussy over the shade tbth! I like proper ginger ones and liver ones and the more chrome the better. Whereas there is only one shade of bay that I don't really like and that is the really pale shade - it's just dull to my eyes.

Hello 'Chestnut Arabs' - Don't I know you from somewhere?

LOL! Love the pics of your girls!

I only joined here recently - was just looking for a bit of advice initially, but there seem to be lots of nice people (quite a few Arab-lovers among them, too).
