i want to change the colour of numnahan boots for my chestnut mare. she was in white but that gets dirty easily so keeping that for shows. most things i have for her are purple but i think brown also looks good.
anyone know what colours suit chestnuts? purple or brown are my main choices x

My 2 chestnuts numnahs are a boring array of black and White! Although the black polypad with purple lining does look smart :))

What shade of chestnut is he??

I have green for mine but he has electric blue overreach boots and they really suit him so going for that next :)

might have to try a few on or find a few pics and shes simular to your pic maui+bec maybe a little darker but shes not clipped this winter and goes more of a gingerykind of colour x

What always annoyed me when I had chestnuts was that I could never get woof (type) boots in chestnut

I used plain boring dark brown.

I hate all this consumer led bling stuff for horses - and I could now try to subvert this post to the owning horses on benefit thread.........
White, brown or black for any horse is sufficient. And horses are more than affordable for most people / benefits or whatever, if one assumes that the animal needs a saddle and bridle, maybe a couple of rugs (but not vital if the animal is unclipped) and basic food stuffs - good hay, and depending on size and nature of horse and work - a few horse nuts.
Most tack can be bought second hand - and many saddles fit many horses, despite what your own saddler might say.......Years ago, before polypads (of what ever colour) I used to go to the local market and buy foam, terribly cheaply to fit under saddles - not that many bad backs in those days......
There are 1,000's of businesses who make sooooo much money from gullible horse people - don't be so seduced!
Though, of course I am delighted in the progress that has been made in the stable and NZ rug market - but that is more about technological advances in materials as opposed to do we want shocking pink or a Burberry look for our NZ rugs.
All my horses are Chestnut - they are classy horses in their own right and would look blooming good in a black bin liner, and all have cheek bones to die for!

Rather uncalled for. The poor girl only asked about getting a numnah. Oh, and you need to check your grammar in places; '- and I could now try to subvert this post to the owning horses on benefit thread.........' does not make grammatical sense :)

Oh dressedkez you do make me laugh... If someone wants to dress their horse in neon pink fluff and sparkles then why shouldn't they, assuming its their money and they're not in the showring being judged on traditional turnout?

I don't buy a lot of unnecessary stuff for my horse but I do tend to go for navy blue... Do you think my horse would look awfully tacky in a blue numnah and blue overreach boots?

OP I like any shade of blue, hunter green or purple, and I think white piping looks nice and brightens it up a bit!

Kind of depends on how orange they are, mine is a haflinger and would look awful in red I think.

another here for brown and blue.

Now have 3 chestnut mares, and nothing looks better (in my opinion anyway !)

My lickle ginge foalie has just moved up from her lovely blue foal rug which suited her down to the ground. Unfortunately the next one i save for babies is pink. Now shes quite girly, so think she likes it, but honestly dont think it does her any favours.

Depends on the shade of chestnut, but I think hunter green or navy work with pretty much any shade. My mare has royal blue or pale blue stuff which suits her. Burgundy works on some shades too, as does purple.

Pale blue and brown sounds really nice together- might have to look into that :D
