One of my chestnuts in yellow and brown, not a great photo.

Agreed with others that yellow and red are the least pleasing on a chesnut (I have one)
Dark green, navy, blue (not baby blues) brown and black all look very smart on an orange one! :)

Thank you everyone. Unfortunately it has to be red or yellow.

Liking Steerpike’s pic, I think yellow it will be!

I do not like yellow and red. However, I felt the need to have a custom pad designed with said colors for my Spanish horse. It looks good on him, better than I thought. But he's bay. It'd really clash with a chestnut tbh. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd choose red. May depend on the shade of chestnut though.

Have you played with the Mattes configuration tool at all? You can change the horse color on there too.

In my head I'm really struggling with coming up with a good yellow and red colored pad for a chestnut. However, if it is clearly country colors, I could accept that ? 20200815_094322.jpg

Can you still get the Horseware Newmarket saddle pads? They did the traditional red/black/golden yellow combination which I personally love on my chestnuts (I have an old wool exercise rug in that colour combination).
