Meowy Catkin
Meow!
It had all been going so well. She was sound and I'd even walked her out in-hand a couple of times along the lanes. Then the old abscess hole started to get a bit smelly and she didn't look as free flowing in her movement.
The farrier was due today anyway, so I explained that I had needed to clean the hole out and that she didn't look quite right when it was gunky - so he opened it all up.
I was pleased however when he said that she is making good progress. Everything above the 'event line' is growing at a much better angle. He said that her heels have moved back and that they will be even further back once the hoof has fully grown out. Her soles are starting to show concavity (sp?) too.
So I must stay positive. Once I'm happy that she's sound I can continue to walk her out, plus we're still on course for bringing her back into ridden work once her hoof has grown (so not the awful setback that I had feared).
A little vid of some horse snot
