I tried to vote on the poll on the main site but it won't let me for some reason but realy the only thing i have to say is
Lucy is perfection personified.

The first photo was taken on a sponsoured ride just after Abbys shetland had bucked her off and i had chased it across the downs but unable to catch it i returned to the kids threw Abby on Lucy and walked the rest of the ride (about 2 miles back) Lucy was amazing she was so calm after all the excitment. We then spent several hours looking for the shetland.
*Note the shetland was a chestnut gelding.*

she is beautiful and has an awsome name!

however me and chestnut mares seem to (as a growing rule) not ever get on!!! dont know if its stubborn mare syndrome (through both parties) or just im a set geldings kinda girl and chestnut mares just resent me for it!

My once in a lifetime was a chestnut mare. I've spent the last six years trying to find something that came even close. Last weekend I bought another one and so far so good

.. Love em.

Love them too..... rode a lovely mare and her daughter who was also chestnut when I was a teenager and have loved them ever since!

My chestnut mare is a little grumpy madam at the moment, so totally living up to the stereotype!
That said, she is the best horse I have ever had and I absolutely adore her. I would never, ever let her go. She is one in a million, the horse of my dreams.

I have four greys and one brown/black. In fact I have never owned a chestnut - but if I was looking for another horse (I'm not) I would have no objection whatsoever to a chestnut mare if that was the horse I wanted. They all have their quirks and I really don't believe colour comes into it.

You must have heard the saying "a good horse is never a bad colour"?
