I never really thought people took this seriously, but it seems so! I've had two chestnut mares - one native, one almost pure Arab - and both were completely brilliant. First one was totally placid and utterly sweet-natured, the Arab could be a bit of a tart and could be quite lively to ride but was practically faultless to handle and very sweet. Nastiest horse we ever had was a little bay mare who looked like sweetness and light but was genuinely mentally disturbed.
I wouldn't look twice at a horse's colour to be honest, apart from a slight sinking feeling at keeping a grey clean!
