I think he will end up being a bay, my 2 year old filly was born bay, then went a orangy chesnut colour, and she is now a very bright bay.

Heres a piccie of mine when she was 2 months old:

and now aged 2:

Well he caused a dilemma with the vet on filling out the reg form. Now being a div I forgot how dark his dam's mane & tail are, & though my vet quiet rightly pointed out that he did not have dark legs I persuaded him to log him as bay. I thought that as there was dark shading around his heels the legs would go dark, not the case. Thanks AmyWay for saying he is beautiful, (I like your new horse by the way), but I do think the squid is turning chestnut.

Oh god talk about slow in posting, where did all of you lot come from. I love your filly by the way, & she could well prove the point as her legs are not dark either. This does bring in the issue of when do you reg them? I put his in early in case we decided to show at Bucks County, now I wish I had held off.

I think Tilly was registered with the TBF straight away by the stud who bred her. Im not sure how you would go about changing the registration details if they did change colour.

However the stud groom who delivered her told me that she called the stud owner a few minutes after she was born to say that she had safely delivered a chesnut filly, it wasn't until she had dried off she realised she was bay.

Your little foal looks a stunning little chap, whatever his colour!!
