The floor in my cheval horse trailer fell through on sunday , we where going to a hunter trial, my horse is lucky to be alive. It has a plywood floor and is two years old, its not rotten just not up to the job. Has this happened to anyone ? If you have one of these trailers please get a metal floor put in, i do not want this to happen to anyone else

I had no idea they didn't have an aluminium, or the newer plastic, floors that modern trailers tend to have.

I'm surprised. Pleased to hear your horse is ok though. What a fright. My friend had a Cheval Liberte a few years ago and I was shocked at how "flimsy" some of the fittings were. Bits broke off it in no time at all. I had an ancient Ifor Williams 505 at the time and couldn't imagine that trailer would still be in good working order in 20+ years time.

Had heard their build quality had dramatically improved though so am sorry to hear about your plight.

I've not heard of it happening but I've never been a fan of that trailer, it always looked flimsy & no where near as well buily as Bateson, Ifor, Rice etc. Your horse is very fortunate to be alive.

Contact the company regarding this & hopefully they will come out & view the trailer & see what has given way. As it is fairly new I would imagine you will have a case against them. Don't let them remove the trailer though until you have fully photographed it all over
