Chewing bridle!!

On the subject of grabbing ropes, my horse does the same but also grabs his reins when I tack him up. Its driving me mad. Ive tried sternly saying no, even smacked his nose the other day but of course I dont want to do that really as I dont want him to end up headshy.
Any ideas.

I know ponies that chew their tack, it's so annoying! =D Maybe try that a bit, or give him a tap somewhere else? good luck!

keep things out of the way of his teeth, and give things a spray with some product such as yum yum, nasty taste will hopefully put a stop to it
