My labrador is now approching 2yrs old but is still chewing, particularly his bedding! And it's not for lack of toys etc. Please tell me he will grow out of this soon as he certainly isn't the size of a puppy anymore!
No, as he does the majority of it while everyone is at work. He has company of 3 other dogs during the day as I take him to my mums for the day so he's not alone.
My youngest yellow lab is just over 2 yrs and still has a regular chew on her bedding and she lives with another 10yr old yellow!
My first black lab loved chewing too, she chewed up until she was 5! In saying that so did my older yellow lab!, She moved onto chewing her feet when young yellow came along!
So if yours are anything to go by I may have this for a while to come yet then...oh joy! All my mums blacks are fine...they do say choc's are abit of a handful!
The funniest thing that has ever happened was about a year ago, he chewed through the connection cable of the house alarm..I was in Cyprus at the time & my poor brother who was dog sitting rang us up in a panic as there was no way he could turn the alarm off! Never dog-sat again after that......
you have to make a signature to do that... basically you need to get all them images you like into something like paint or photoshop and save it the right size as one image. Someone could maybe make one for you - ask in the soapbox
I'm rubbish at it! think there is also a guide at the top of the photogallery?
The lady at lab rescue says most labs chew which suprised me as mine doesn't and our old lab (now sadly no longer with us) never chewed either. My sister has two labs and one chews everything and the other doesn't chew anything...
Youre not alone. Sorry but I have a black lab coming up 2 she chews pretty much everything. My dad also has a black lab she must be about 7 now she chews all new bedding into small bits religiously. They both have spaniel companions who dont chew. Im afraid I have decided its a lab thing!
Im another one with a chewy black lab. She eats her beds, even the toughest ones, pulls all the stuffing out and spreads it across the garden lol.
I was going to get her just a plastic one but I also have a very old black lab (who doesnt chew at all but likes to carry something) and she needs a bed so I now have a heap of old 'throws' and get blankets from charity shops and use them.
I dont think Mica will grow out of it - she is three now. She makes up for it in other ways tho.
Oh and .... when she was a puppy she ate some VERY expensive concert tickets (£200 each) and I couldnt get a refund.
We have two black sisters that are four months old and they are both remodelling our kitchen. We have two holes right through the plaster, going for an open plan look I think. Came in Saturday to find the latest hole and had two little faces looking innocently up at me but the white stripes across their little noses gave it away.
On Saturday night they polished their double act by getting my purse off the worktop and chewing my cards up (left me one credit card in tact thankfully) plus a tenner.
Our old Lab has never chewed a thing but she had our one year old GSD girl to learn from at the time and she was an angel, RIP my darling Emmy.
It must definately be a lab thing then, must look into contents insurance! Fudge actually swallowed a whole sock once...luckily it come back out whole in his vomit but so worrying could have gone the other way
Despite destroying my kitchen he is a gorgeous soppy friendly boy and so good round the horses I wouldn't change him for the world!
