chilblains on side of thigh!

I got them on the back of my thighs many years ago when I worked with horses, so I used to tie a jumper around my waist which gave more coverage and didn't have a problem from then on. Didn't apply any creams either. These days polar trousers are great, and it sounds like you've got yourself sorted. Lots of good advice from others too.

i use the fur lined leggings from Primark everyday now, they are so warm, i can wear them under some jods too

I have rotten circulation and get chilblains on my feet and hands (nothing like as bad as others here, though!) and can confirm that Primark furry lined leggings are the bees' knees. Cheap too. But they have the highest waist known to mankind so are more comfortable when standing up.....when sat down they constrict my chubby tummy 😆

Where did you get your riding skirt from? X
I was going to suggest a riding skirt too.
I have one similar to this. It sits over your thighs when riding (or standing round). I find it keeps my thighs warmer than the longer one I’ve just bought due to the difference in cut.
