Child equestrian influencers

I’m really surprised that any ‘reputable’ company would sponsor or gift things to a child this young - you’d think the damage to their reputation would be massive! What’s really sickening though is that you can’t help but think with a child that young that the parents had the idea first and then created the child purely for that reason……..urgh!

The kid is 3. Up to this point it was a video once a week or so documenting her very cute adventures with her share pony. It ramped up presumably to get the money for the new pony - but they are not earning a fortune, budget for said pony was extremely modest. They gave her time to settle with the pony without videos straight away also.

We have kid models, actors etc. Some of the social media accounts are very intrusive into a child’s life. Some kids on and off social media are being pushed and pushed to do more and achieve higher goals. Even to meet strangers to ‘play’.

I don’t think giving some stuff to a kid with their first pony is going to damage Shires Equestrian’s reputation for ever.

I believe kid models and actors are covered by extremely stringent guidelines and regulations. Currently nothing is protecting social media kids.

Indeed and many accounts are mildly horrifying. Accusing people who usually post pretty mild content (of a kid having fun once a week) of having had a child just to do so though…

Personally, I feel that at three years old a child is far too young to consent to being on social media at all.

Profit making companies don’t give things away for free - it comes with the expectation that they will gain financially as a result which is fine if the person in question is aware of this but at three years old this child isn’t. There are plenty of older children/teenagers and adults they can profiteer from - in my view using a three year isn’t ethical but everyone has a different opinion.
