I just found two amazing short videos on youtube of an 8 year old girl (in France??) doing some incredible riding. One video is of her doing halts at x in a dressage show and another is of her doing some SJ exercises. Watch her balance in the jumping video--it's incredible. I hope I never have to compete against her one day...when she grows up!

always one to ruin the fun....

why would you put such a tiny rider on a big horse?

also, I can't see how she is any better than some of the SJ/ SHow pony riders of her age (most of the ponies are tricky rides!)

agree with above.. although in most parts of europe children learn to ride on horses for some reason.
but i didnt think she was particularly talented.. i've seen much better riders her age at local shows

have photos of me doing all sorts jumping bounces, doubles all of a decent size when i was 8 unfortunately i don't think i have got much better since :P and i am certainly less fearless

Can't say she's a prodigy to be honest, she just seems like someone who's ridden for a bit on an incredibly good horse.
Have to say though, if I put her on Sam and let her go over a fence, she'd be dumped immediately after, he wouldn't take a great liking to the gobbing and bouncing. :/

I too disagree, she is not a child prodigy, I think she gets away with reins far to long, stirrups to short, hauling on the reins with her feet braced against the stirrups, bouncing and trot rising way to high because she has a saint of a horse.

Really it is only in the UK that children are taught on ponies because we have such a good supply of them!

I was shocked to see tiny children on horses in the USA but it is common practise.
