) dog.She says it's a chonese powder puff.......never heard of them!
No to be fair, anything under knee height goes without notice to me, not a small dog fan at all but are they a real breed or the latest fashion? Know of chinese crested but not powderpuff.
Any known health probs? What are they like??

Yes they are a breed they look like a very small afghan hound in my opinion. The ones we used to groom were very friendly and cuddly.

See, I thought they were the same breed as Chinese Crested, only the hairy variety...

You see a lot of the Chinese Cresteds in NYC, and one or two of the Powderpuffs. Their skin feels really weird--hot, almost, and smoother than you'd think.

Thankyou everyone

Think I like them better with hair

Looks like it will be a fabby dog for children and much better suited to a girly 6 year old then the Akita!

Sadly this is home 3 for the poor mite

but a permanant one

Just hope they get it insured ASAP...from sounds of things it came from a puppy farm

Cousin of OH new HG had one(got it for £350 from someone at a year old, wouldnt have paid that myself but hey ho) she lost her job a few months later and had to move back in with her parents for a bit who diddnt want the dog because their cat hates it so she gave it to another of OH's cousins.
His children are in love with it......OH says it looks like something you would clean the loo with

to be fair chinese cresteds when grown almost are knee height :-) if you are short like me anyway!!!
they are quite big for a toy dog i.e. when fully grown too large to carry around etc.

i am getting a hairless crested on weds and his bro is powderpuff - VERY soft hair lovely looking little teddy type thing.

chinese cresteds have very nice temperments and usually are more lap dog variety.
they do require grooming or skin care for hairless's.
they are also expensive i think the going rate for a powder puff is around £500
