Finally left this ridiculous group after the discussion that followed a photo put up about an hour ago where a lady was jumping her TB and saying she wasn't too big for her horse. Tbf she didn't look that big on it but the comments that followed made my blood boil! Quote one of them 'if your horse is happy what's the problem? you could be 20st and ride a 14hh if it's happy get on with it!'. There were some sensible people commenting but after reading that I had to leave, it's not good for my blood pressure!

I banned myself from it - before they could ban me! Just ridiculous!

Haha, I find myself hiding those kinds of posts on there before I type something & get banned, mainly because I sell a fair bit in their auctions ;) it makes me laugh when the posts always end in 'no nasty comments'!!

Its a terrible page, i posted a thread on it the other day after seeing a video of a lame horse that aparently wasnt lame it was just unbalanced because it was exited to see its owner! I havnt been on there since. Stupid people.

Yes! They're not nasty comments just basic common sense saying the horse is lame or at 20 stone you're potentially a little too heavy for it.

That group regularly makes me want to headbutt a wall, Dolly's owner calls it *****, shat and tack lol !

LOL! It keeps me entertained when I'm at work (ie now) however I've reached the point where I'm sharpening pencils ready to stick in my eyes after reading some of the **** on there :eek3:

There have been lots of posts on that page about weight today. I was surprised so many people took the "your horse will let you know if you are too heavy" approach, and those who suggested more weight loss was needed were shot down.
I think the very fact that the owner asked if she was too heavy indicated that she already knew the answer.
I also sit on my hands rather than get dragged into debate/internet slanging matches!

I know BF, surely if you have an amenable kind horse then no, he won't necessarily buck or rear you off just grimace and bear the weight. Same, I know that if I comment there's absolutely no point because they won't listen! Just had to leave the group.

Did anyone see the one with the photo of the pony stood in a very odd position with the owner saying it was quite obviously in pain what should she do? Vet maybe??!!? Seriously thinking off removing myself from it - not seen the TB one yet, don't think I want to though!

I'm naughty, must admit to trying to have a last say before I removed myself! Woman was adamant and wouldn't listen to the point I was trying to make. Look at Amanda Gardiner's post, that's me desperately trying to get my point across but she just won't listen! Anyway I've LEFT now. *sits on hands*

I also have to sit on my hands very often :) Sometimes I don't, though ...................... ;)

Did anyone notice the question a few days ago asking where the OP could buy 'ad lib haylage', and what was it that made it different from normal haylage? :o

Absolutely everything can be cured by a carrot stick covered in a paste of sudocrem and turmeric, administered by a barefoot back person wearing aromatherapy oils :p

It does seem to be the place that horsey idiots go... not sure why it attracts them but it does. The weight threads are terrifying and the advice is beyond anything...

Just seen a 3 year old cob for sale on there who has hunted and showed already.

So many dodgy and downright odd posts!

I have seen the rising 4 yr old that has done 'everything', plus the one currently running where the OP is concerned that her 18month old colt won't lunge, bites and rears. Oh, and the fields are out of bounds over the winter, so it needs to run round on a lunge to get exercise ............... and some idiot commented that not everyone were 'snobs' with loads of turnout!! THAT has been a sit-on-hands moment. Grrrrrr!

I had to leave the group when I was given a load of abuse for suggesting that the girl who had what was obviously a severe laminitic pony for 4 days unable to walk called the vet instead of asking for advice on a forum. Apparently it was ok, because it had only been "uncomfortable" on its feet for the 4 days before that too...

There really should be an intelligence test before people are allowed animals, in fact before they are allowed to reproduce.

I've left that group several times. I usually join if i have something to sell, post it, then leave again. I can't cope with the posts lol
