I'm starting to think seriously about my next move with horses.I'm hopefully (fingers crossed, if everything goes to plan) getting a school, have to save a bit first though

. And The ginger one is 14 this year, so really and truly won't go much further than we are now

. we just can't get the dressage scores that we need with the double clears!! My loan horse is going to be sold, and TBH it's probably for the best as he's never going to be an eventer, he's a dressage horse and that just isn't my thing (although i really enjoy it!).

I'm not going to be able to afford a decent 4/5yr old, so will have to buy young, it's just how young! I have the space, time..etc, so thats not a problem! and thus the choices!!

I don't need to buy now, i'm just trying to get everything clear, although it's very open and i'm not going out to look for an exact horse!!

There are lots of choices:
This has come up a bit quickly but I have found a very nice yearling that I REALLY like, I saw him from a distance and I was like "he's the one for me", and i NEVER do that!! But he's in UK, so I would have to transport him over, which adds to his cost! He's a very decent youngster, I know the sire and dam (have seen them both) has a very uphill movement, but is built for eventing. My RI found him for me, and said he would be perfect, just what will be looking for

(hannovarian x tb x ?? I think!) to make 16.2/3hh. (no pics!)

Then there is his full sister (I don't get on with mares as well as I do geldings!!), she's only 3 months old, but obv. a little cheaper than first one! Again RI said that she would be 2nd choice! (in UK!) (same as above!), (no pics)

I could spend more money and find one in France, but I have been looking and tbh there is nothing that I really like

Or I have to travel really far
tongue.gif
I know that stupid if I was prepared to travel to uk, but this was only by chance, and I was over here anyway

I have also found that prices for a decent baby are actually more than what first one... They are out there, but I would have to do a LOT of searching first!

And there is the one foal I asked about a few days ago, I got sent a few photos and tbh there is something about him that I don't really like now, but I suppose he was at an ugly stage!!

can post recent pics if you would like to see him...

Anything from England wouldn't be coming over until next spring.

It might sound like I'm rushing but tbh I'm not! This has been on the cards for a couple of months now, so I have put a lot of thought into it, I just didn't think I would find something I REALLY liked so soon

anyway, not really sure why I posted this, suppose I'm just writing it to get things down on paper!

And I contemplated not posting it, but I wrote it so why delete it?!?!

sorry!

I think you need to decide which is right for you as there is stil so much that hinges on a youngster. I would travel where ever for the right horse!!
