I have a 25yo that is prone to choke. If his short feed isn't damped down enough, he will choke on it, and has been known to choke on hay. Is more common in the winter, when he's apt to bolt his feed when brought in of a night, but am able to manage it. We are still out 24/7 at the moment, and when I got the yard this morning, went to get him in from the field, and he was choking. We don't feed hay in the fields, this was purely on grass. He doesn't get distressed, so walked him around a bit and he cleared some of it. Massaged his throat and more walking and he totally cleared himself.

He has his teeth done regularly, last done about 4/5 weeks ago. Any ideas what could have caused it? Was pure grass that came up.
