We got a couple of one-week-old chicks yesterday - they are Barnevelders (I'd never heard of them), which are apparently a very quiet docile breed. They're so cute!

And we're handling them to make them tame:

They live in my sister's room at the moment, and they're always cheeping and poking their heads through the bars trying to go to her. They seem to love having cuddles!

They're lovely. We've one barnvelder, it's a double lace wing - so each feather has a very pretty lighter lace pattern to it. She's ultra friendly but prone to broodieness. Good layer when not broody though!

Awww!! I love baby chooks!!!! Our "babies" are 16 weeks old now and I miss their cheeping. Savour the cheeping and the fuzziness while you can!
