some local kids keep picking up grass that was chopped up by a lawnmower about a week ago and trying to feed Banjo. I have told them not to because I was always told this was not good for them. Is this true?!!

Yes, it can give them colic.

Yes - never feed chopped grass - it ferments and releases toxic gases which can cause serious colic in horses!
