The yard is having a Christmas jumping show next week, and I'm a hopeless traditionalist who normally doesn't let sparkles anywhere near my horses.

But I haven't been to a Christmas show for years, and I'm getting my arm twisted by the others up there.

What sparkly / blingy things exist to decorate a 16 hand creamy? I have some blue tinsel to match his eyes at the moment. Shopping links welcome :-)

blue LED fairy lights to match your tinsel (on a battery obv :p) mine go round my numnah, but if you can plait up the mane in plaits looks really nice friend has done that. better if indoors though, we always want xmas to be a dull day ;)

mine also wears:
antlers
noseband tinsel
blinker tinsel
neck tinsel x2 to bulk it up
stirrup tinsel
xmas wraps
and tail tinsel (which remarkably is on it's 14th year with the hair band now thoroughly ensconced).

which reminds me xmas is one of the few times he wears a noseband, just so we can add tinsel :D

Oh and I did have a santa hat for a while that had a button on the end that played jingle bells, which often got pressed going over jumps.
Now I have bells on the end of this one just to irritate

I love Christmas but hate garish stuff! I opted for classy tinsel covering of everything last year, also a Christmas jumper with stock would probably look smart for a Christmas show? I quite liked my tinsel bobble.
;)

Very nice, I like it in the mane. I came across a cheap santa hat for horses and I couldn't resist it😁 (I'm like a child).

Antlers are more or less compulsory. Even my Police Horse had antlers on Xmas eve. We would be out in the dark so we also had flashing lights on every arm or leg, and tinsel - lots of tinsel.

Happily the gaffers tended not to be out in the dark, late on Xmas eve!!!

loling at 'classy tinsel'.

catkin it used to get him a carrot at the local pub ;)

I still think his tricorn hat as puss in boots suited him best. though he did look very smart in his James bond DJ, essentially he is long suffering and used to it ;)

OP it might be worth mentioning that a surprising number of horses like to eat tinsel....

Ester that is OUTSTANDING!!!

I was never able to bling up my old share horse for our Christmas morning yard hack (tinsel was terrifying, as were most things), but my new girl is far more mellow, so I'm looking forward to turning her into a Christmas tree!

Not quite on the level of Ester! But red elastic bandages with a bit of gamgee underneath worked really nicely! For your boy though ice blue bandages/boots to match your blue tinsel (and did I hear someone mention fairy lights :O :P )

Mine is also terrified of tinsel - a strand around his neck last year and we couldn't leave the yard as he had a meltdown - think I'd better start desensitising pronto!

2 of mine would either fall asleep or try to eat the tinsel. The other one would teleport!

This was Tudor and Six on Christmas Eve 2014. The tinsel and antlers were a hit with everyone who saw them!

I’m so envious! My boy has hysterics over tinsel. Last year he won a rosette that was made of tinsel - he had a proper meltdown over it. At the age of 22 you’d think he would know better!
