I have lined up 4 cans of Guinness for Shy, plus a packet of polos, and SECRET special present to be revealed on the day itself. His two friends will each get two cans of stout and a packet of polos.

On Christmas day, we always dunk apples with Shy  and then go for a quiet ride.

Does anyone else do similar, or am I just barking :D

Blimey, Cam finds coordination hard enough normally, I'd hate to think how he would be after 4 cans of Guiness. :o Mine don't really get treats, but they do get lots of scratches and attention. But they don't really know it's Christmas, so nothing different really. :)

I think it's cute!

Mr P gets a stocking with polo's, apple, carrots & a pack of horse treats. I spoilt him on a trip to London with a Harrods brush - he may end up with more Christmas presents after visiting Olympia.

He's part of the family, so it wouldn't feel right not treating him on Christmas Day!

My (unhorsey) boyfriend thinks I'm mental though! X

Haha, no, just one can of guinness in the feed for the next four nights. Poor lad IS under age !
Done it every year and he LOVES it ! The Guinness and Budweisser horses get stout regularly.

I feel a bit nuts since they have no idea what day it is, but I always do a bit of something for mine. They get carrots as a treat for a change (we have an apple orchard so have apples coming out of our ears which the horses appreciate!). Last year I also poured half a can of Guinness into each of their feeds which seemed to go down well, so shall do the same this year :). They don't get presents though!

T'Khasi wants a packet of murray mints, a swede and some carrots. He is getting hay, and the whole day out in his favourite paddock with his best friend. Carrots/swede may factor at some point. Murray mints remain highly unlikely as they stick in his teeth! :D

Share horse is getting the same, but we may have a little amble about the school too.

Em has her own stocking lol, we open that during Xmas morn feeds (tho it normally gets nibbled!), the Ned's also wake up to a grotto as I decorate the yard each Xmas eve for the YO and her grand daughter, did consider dressing up as Santa to say good morning to them but I don't think I'd survive the walk home through the village full of excited kids lol :)

This year my husband has for Xmas..... half a horse massager.
This year I have for Xmas..... the other half a horse massager.
So I guess this year Jay has........ his own horse massager!!!!!

Always have to do something. A nice beer some Apple bobbing an Apple juice and a morning in the garden (his fave place) the two youngens will get some treats too and a walk.

My doggies have stockings and advent calendars.... no we don't have kids either.

This year I have bought them a lick each....... Really shouldn't as they make such a mess with them and they go everywhere......but never mind!

I am also going to make a wreath for each..... Plaited haylage, with polos, carrots, swede, apples etc entwined within it. They have to be in on Xmas day so they will enjoy that hung up to nibble on for the day!

Always visit on Christmas day with lots of goodies - just such a fun thing to do after 'Christmas Dinner' and feels so 'special', then feel free to 'enjoy' the evening festivities with a glass or two.
Happy Christmas everyone......

Lol loving some of these. mine have always got can guiness and somes treats (never get treats normally so really are treats !) a rendition of "we wish you merry christmas (much to thier horror) and a couple of pressies like brushes or headcollar. i know they dont know it christmas BUT ITS FUN :)

I love the wreath idea too. Our pony gets a stocking full of treats on Christmas morning. Our old pony used to love a can of Guinness in his Christmas feed. My friend who also loves Guinness used to watch and weep as I poured it into a bowl of chaff...especially the year the off licence had sold out of "ordinary" Guinness and he had a can of Draught Guinness! Happy memories.

Yup, I thought so, and hubs is booking me in to see a shrink next week... we don't have kids tho, so I guess that's my excuse.

I am a shrink (well, psychologist anyway), and if anybody tells me I'm barking mad, I just suggest that they're transferring their own bonkersness onto me :D

Mine gets his annual Satsuma on Christmas Day, and we go for a nice quiet early morning ride. Apart from that, it's business as usual ;)

Every day is Christmas day for my two. However, the boy will get to wear bells for his morning hack and I suspect he may get lucky at the local pub.

He likes Bacardi and coke without the Bacardi, as he can't drink and carry me home.

Crikey 4 cans?! Fergs would be bouncing off the ceiling! I used to give J one sometimes but he was never fussed... Maybe I will give the highlands a special treat this year. Then stand back and watch them batter each other like every stereotypical drunk scot should (if you believe their portrayal on tv anyway!). I usually get polos in my stocking for them.
