What do you do?

We have OH Aunty staying with us for Christmas and was thinking of things to do on Christmas Eve that is a bit different/not staying in eating and watching movies as this will be pretty much the rest of the weeks activities!

I will attend Mass at 6pm and then..................... well what do you do??

Not to many drink related ones as I'm about to start IVF :D

We discovered rapidough a few years ago. It's like pictionary but you model from play dough instead of drawing. Absolutely hilarious! And my 80 year old Granny was the worst for cheating!!

I finish up the horse, we always have lasagne (minimal dishes because I make it the day before), we open our Christmas jammies (a family tradition), we light the fire and watch Christmas movies, we put the mince pies and port out for Father Christmas and carrots by the back door for the reindeer, the girls go up to bed and OH reads "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" to them (they are 15 and 17 - yes, really), OH and I try and stay awake until midnight, fill all the stockings (even the dogs'), and then pass out with exhaustion ;).

Id suggest some grub in a pub, with a nicebottle of wine....i would order your taxi now though, they might get booked up quick. Have a good one, whatever you do.x

This year I'm away with the BF from the Sat before Xmas and won't get back until Xmas Eve evening, so quick muck out of the pony then dinner at my Dad's. Always the same thing; freshly cooked gammon joint with potatoes, peas and parsley sauce :) Then am spending Xmas Eve with my sis while the BF goes off to play with his friends. Me and sis will be making sausage rolls (proper home made ones!) and a few other nice christmassy treats, maybe some gingerbread, and watching the Muppet Christmas Carol. That's been our traditional Xmas Eve for years.

Echo a good old fashioned board game!.

On a slightly different angle i've bought a game called 'Know your Partner'!!.. it's a bit naughty, but that's the fun of it. i intend to bring it out when 2 other couples are coming round to ours after the New Year for something to eat etc,...we should have a real giggle discovering just how much we know about our 'significant others'!!! :)

I love a board game! We always play one on xmas day. This year we have a Tour De France boardgame (family of obsessive cyclists!) and Balderdash, which I used for a party recently and was hilarious once we'd all had a few drinks.

I do also have a naughty boardgame (Monogamy) but that's just for me and the BF! ;)

Aren't you all good. Xmas eve for us is usually spent rushing round panicing and wrapping things up. Even more complicated by the fact that its my stepson's birthday too!

My OH's family stays, we always do the same ,
We get together in the kitchen and have a drink while I stuff the turkey and when I have it in the bottom of the Aga we have supper always shepherds pie and trifle my FIL's Favorites then we sit by the fire and talk as we only ever together at Christmas it's a laugh PIL go to bed quite early I tidy the kitchen sort the table of Christmas day and the boys talk into the small hours .
sounds boring put like that but it is fun.
