Do you get your farrier or vet a small gift / token of appreciation for their support throughout the year? I need some inspiration...

My farrier has a standing invite for a coffee on Christmas day. Some years he takes us up on it and others he doesnt, it depends on his children and how they arrange their Christmas.

This has actually just reminded me I last see my farrier before Christmas is something like 28th November so I ought to add it to my shopping order!

I give my farrier a box of beer - I checked with his family and that's his favourite alcohol.

My vet it depends on how much I've seen them that year - I'll do mine this year as she's been brilliant.

I'll also give my trainer something and the horses chiropractor - wouldn't always do the chiro but she's done the horses every 3 months for the past few years and been very good about squeezing us in.

I usually buy some champagne when it's on offer for gifting - I figure unless you know someone doesn't drink or prefers something else then it's always nice/ feels generous to be given a bottle of champagne.

Eek. Not really. I did once- it was a chocolate gift set shaped in various tools- hammer, rasp, horse shoe. I don’t know what I’d get him. He likes expensive whisky and seems pretty comfortable!

i feel awful now, i won’t see my farrier again until just after xmas but a card or something didn’t occur to me in october🤣🤣

I need to find out what mine drinks! I usually get a crate of beer for them.
My vet has been on speed dial this year and the ladies at the equine hospital have been great so will def get them something this year.

Not the farrier or vet as they seem well off. I always tip the feed delivery man as he’s probably min wage and always carries in and stacks carefully. He rings if running late and is always chatty.
