I'll be up to do my boy first thing, help turn out other liveries and muck out (hopefully with help from OH) then staff will bring in PM as we are my mums this year and will be full of food and booze by that time!
Even though Ven knows its not Christmas he will still get a lick, lots of carrots and apples and a turnip as he will be in early so that will keep him occupied. His heart is in his stomach so food is the best present for him!
Santa (or our YO if Santa is running behind) gives all the horses a gift bag full of treats. Really nice when the kids come up and realise Santa has visited their pony too!
At least four of us go for a christmas day ride around the village every year decked out in tinsel/santa outfits. Pony will be getting carrots and appes in his christmas dinner, but haven't decided on what present yet.
Mine are at home, so get seen to twice a day as normal, I always do my liveries horses (if they want) on xmas day, as their xmas present! The only difference is mine will come it at 4 - 5pm instead of the usual 7pm, so it doesn't interfere with dinner!...the also get subjected to wearing santa hats and reindeer horns
I will go up and see J and C and muck out, then off to the yard to see Abbie and muck her out. Abbie will be getting a new headcollar and Likit for Xmas and haven't decided for C and J yet. He takes a small pony headcollar - quite hard to come across!
Yes I will see my horse and I suspect the other 20 on the yard aswell! The other grooms don't want to do christmas day. She might get half a carrot if there's any left from the roast dinner
Christmas day is the same as any other day for the horses. I will go down as usual & feed, muck out & turn out & later in the day will bring in, rug change & feed. Every day is Christmas for my horses anyway.
I'll be there as normal but there won't be presents or extra big feeds, they have no idea it's xmas daughter might want to give the ponies a carrot each.
