I want to buy my riding instructor a xmas pressie as she has really helped me this year with my confidence. Thought of obvious like chocs or wine but that doesnt seem a big enough thank you.
Any ideas welcome, or do you think she would prefer money.

As she probably spends a lot of time standing around in the cold while her pupils stay lovely and warm something to help keep her warm, gloves are always welcome, I never have enough, a nice hat, neckwarmer or socks would be other suggestions although I would not turn away any quantity of wine/ chocs/ bath things etc.
I think it is the thought that counts so while money is useful it tends to get spent on essentials rather than on something special.

I've bought mine one of those unbreakable spill proof thermal mug things to keep her tea warm as she often has a cuppa when she's teaching on a cold evening. I've filled it with the little red Lindt chocs.

I am having the same dilemma. My instructor has been a key person in my life since I met her earlier this year. I was going to get her some pamper stuff, so she can take some time out for herself and relax. And a nice bottle of plonk 👌🏻

Last year one of my clients bought me some thermal socks and an amazing thermos to put tea in while I teach. I still use both all the time. Just filled the thermos for the third time today, ready to go back out and teach a few more.

I always get my instructor a present; after 14 years I do sometimes resort to wine or choccies but I know she likes a glass or two!
In the past I've got her cinema vouchers, nice bath soak, a book. I try to steer away from horse things, as I guess she probably has all she needs. However, this is made easier in that we tend to natter about all sorts of stuff during my lessons so I get a good idea of what she likes.

If i were the person receiving the gift, I'd just be very flattered that the person had thought enough to get me anything at all.

I don't tend to buy my instructor horse-related gifts, as I figure anything she needs she'd get herself. One year I did but her a knitted earwarmer and snood with diamante's in - as I had got a set and she loved it, but knew she wouldn't buy one herself as she had so many.

I know her pretty well socially though and our topic of concersations even in our lessons range from the obviously horses to work, books, men, fashion, celebrity gossip and everything in between!

I always think nice handcream, skincare lip care sets are useful and go down well - I love Heyland & Whittle or Crabtree & Evelyn as gifts.
