Christmas

Going to my parents' house on the 23rd, at home Christmas eve, hopefully going for a Christmas morning ride (with tinsel and reindeer ears, obviously) if it doesn't ice over like last year, meal with OH's parents Boxing Day then BD hunt on the Monday. I have Tuesday off, will be in work Wed, Thurs and Friday, but hunting on New Year's Day. I'm very much looking forward to it and hoping it won't snow like last year.
How about you, Simsar?

I've got a lovely long 2 weeks off work (for only 4 days holidays :D wooo!!) so will be out everyday the hounds are (if God's willing and the creeks don't rise!)

will also be taking the horses to the beach, to the GG centre for some practice at Un-camelish-ness and some grid work, and for a few good long hacks (assuming it doesn't freeze/snow).

Hunting Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, at sis-in-law's for family lunch on The Day, then on foot for the children's meet on Wed, Golden Buton Ride on NYE, followed by Hunt Ball, then hunting NYD (late meet lol!)

then sleep for a bit :P

Really looking forward to christmas this year, going to Simon's mums, so not having to do anything this year (cooking wise), its been a while since that happened! Still have the horses to do though but that's fine. Their will be 6 of us including Max my son for dinner so very excited. Will follow on foot with the hunt this year I hate Boxing day on a horse its carnage!

Takiing big horse up to the in-laws for Christmas, hunting (on foot) with lovely Cotswold pack on the 27th, and mostly drinking sherry :)

Got 2 weeks off - will hunt Sat 18th on pony, 21st on quad, Xmas Eve on pony, Boxing Day on quad, vale day on pony on Tues 28th, 30th on quad, watch Golden Button on 31st, 1st on pony and then back to work. This is in an ideal world.

Reality means, we will probably not hunt at all over Xmas due to frost so will go on foot a lot and curse having to exercise horses by trotting miles up and down the road instead of going for nice canters round the farm.

No hunting for me just lots of visiting family and avoiding stray hounds as I travel around the coutryside. Usually have to stop on the way up to my grandparents on Boxing day... Hardly a chore as everyone loves watching but one of the dogs got the fright of its life once when a horse stuck its head through the window and woke her up!

Might be having C'ptn Birdseye and his Grandmother round at my parents house on Christmas day but still not sure. As long as I get to see everyone at some point I am not bothered!

Nowt. Horses are off work now til Feb cos I just can't find the time/energy to exercise them! The yard has been frozen so even with the indoor school it's too dangerous to walk them to it so I've given up completely. Boxing Day hunt I'll be on foot with 2 of the mutts and a very very large hip flask...so will actually be quiet nice to enjoy the scenery and have a good old chat with people I usually only see from the back of a manic cob!!!:D Actually really looking forward to the time off and hopefully will start back with a fresh outlook to the new year.

If all goes to plan out on Weds 22nd then Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and NYD. There is also kids meet as well but may give that a miss. However with 3 horses between the 2 of us not sure it will work out....but the weather will probably mean we will end up on foot. Glad I went today....who knows when we will get out next.
