Had a lesson today with my event instructor, who I haven't seen since last summer.
Was only a flatwork lesson, which is my weakpoint... my pony club wants me to do the open area eventing this year (

I haven't been able to school Tara this winter, except for out on hacks and in the showjumping warm up arena, as we only have fields which have been pretty much out of use all winter.
So I was pretty amazed when my instructor told me how different she looked- apparently she looks a LOT stronger and more relaxed, and she said that last year it used to take ages to get her going any where near well enough to produce a nice test, and tonight she was nearly there from as soon as I started working her!
Just need to get her working more "up" instead of long and low, and we will be there! I am so chuffed as it has taken so long to get her like this, and we haven't really noticed the change as we have seen her every day, so was brilliant to get such positive marks!
And apparently my riding has improved with leaps and bounds too
