Just got a phonecall from the owners of "Coloured Vision", the coloured colt by our stallion.

They had him entered into the Sportshorse Classes at the Royal Highland Show today, and he was pulled in 2nd behind a very elegant yearling filly (out of 17 yearlings). The judge was Birgitta Laarsen who worked through the Flyinge Stud in Sweden. She said he was a lovely model of a sports horse with a beautiful topline and excellent movement! He also won the prize for the highest placed SSH bred horse.

The owners are thrilled....this comes off the back of a show in Aberdeen last Sunday where he was Reserve Champion of the in-hand Hunters and Reserve Champion of the in-hand Coloureds.

Am hoping there was a photographer, as would love to see the pics...

I'd get a 'Chuff Chart' going if i was you, because looking at the horses you breed, you are going to get a lot more comments like that!!

Maybe we should have our own "HHO Chuff Chart" so that all breeders on HHO can post when something by their stallion or something they have bred goes on and does well........

I'm just back from the RHS and seen Coloured Vision...attempted some photos but couldn't see because of the weather conditions so think they'll be pretty crappy lol. Will have a look through them though and see if there are any that are actually see-able lol.

He done fantastically well...soooo well bahaved too!

I was surprsed by the turnout, both classes had about 18 entries which was fab

I am not a good photographer as you can see and didn't do this lovely boy justice but it'll do until the pro's can show you theirs lol

Oh no! Do I post too many 'chuffed' posts about my boy? I probably do. That's really bad. I'd hate for people to think I was bragging all the time.

But I really LOVE reading other people's 'chuffed' posts - it always brightens my day when an HHO horse does well, especially if it's one actually bred by an HHO member, or sired by their stallion!

That coloured boy looks super - pleeeease post more pics of him at the show when you get them, OK?

He's super, great news for you.

So, some more details! What's the rest of his breeding, how old and what do they intend to do with him??? I think that will do for now!

He looked very well, and the placing was very deserved - congratulations!

Not too sure about the organisation of the class though, it wasn't as well run as last years and there were some odd goings on!

PrincesDana.......thank you SO MUCH, for posting the picture. Its great to see how he was looking....

Thanks Ashbank on your comments, and that of everyone else. It is great when you see stock out and about that you have either bred or are by your own stallion...

Ashbank...you have me very curious now....."odd goings on....." now you will have to elaborate....

His dam is by Dixi and goes back through Basil Masterpiece. She is a chucky sort of a mare and has a lovely coloured colt by Vision this year that the owners will be looking to sell. She is also going back again to Vision as they are hoping for a coloured filly....LOL.

"Coloured Vision" is only a yearling, he got a 1st Premium by the Dutch judges last year at the SSH Gradings held in September, with 8/10 for conformation and overall 7.5/10 for movement (8/10 for canter, 7/10 for walk & trot). For the time being they are keeping him entire and will see how he matures. They lost their eventing stallion this year so may try and grade him at some point in the future....but who knows..

They are taking him to several other shows this year, and he has won or come 2nd in all his classes and has been awarded three Reserve Championships so far..

He has also qualified for two Championships that are held towards the end of the showing calender.
