I have a couple of clients with them and they are happy, as are the horses.
I don't actually know what they paid for them vs the quality, but they're a fair quality on the surface (I don't clean them so haven't inspected closely!
On of them did not fit well just a couple of weeks after fitting and there was a slight discussion with the rep to get them back out, but when they came they did concede that there was an issue with how the stuffing had settled.
Personally I don't like sitting in either of them as I find them uncomfortable (one of the horses is one I mentioned on another thread who hurts my back) BUT both owners are built very differently to me (I hope nobody takes offence if I say they have a broader seat) and the saddle is built to suit them as well as the horse.

Thanks! It’s so challenging trying to get a saddle for a very wide cob and they keep being recommended but Id never heard of them before and have never seen one in the flesh.

Akaik they are made by Silhouette, I had a Silhouette fitted by master saddler and fitter and it was asymmetrical, I had 4 months of problems trying to get it sorted although this was probably down to the saddler.

I have a Chunky Monkey VSD on my Welsh. I checked it over and had it checked again independently for symmetry due to it being an issue with Silhouette saddles.

Mine is decent quality (not as good as my Black Country) and was £500 despite only being sat in 3 times and new £1200.

I found mine VERY wide to begin with and struggled a little but I'm used to it now. The mare is wide (XW saddle) so something that suits her back is unlikely to feel not wide to sit on..!

I have a Chunky Monkey VSD on trial, and so far I really like it. It's replacing a Wintec Wide, and gives much more of a feeling of riding with the horse, rather than perching on top. They're good quality, rather than amazing quality, but £850 for a brand new leather saddle isn't bad. She normally has a fair amount of second-hand ones, too.

Down-side is that she's very difficult to get hold of if you're a new customer. Someone on my yard is an existing customer, so I got myself added on to her appointment. If you're an existing customer, she's much easier to get an appointment.

I would have liked to try an AH saddle but their fitter for my area is absolutely impossible to get hold of - you might as well be messaging into a void.

WE had one delivered for a big mare here, and I was pretty shocked when I looked at it - it was completely on the wonk. It was sent straight back, and the owner went for a Solution Smart dressage instead

I absolutely love my Chunky Monkey. I've got the cob dressage and it completely changed my pony's way of going and my riding. I've only had it since February so can't comment on how they hold up long term but mine still looks brand new and really smart. A few of my friends have them too and are all pleased with them
