Finally i've crossed the finish line of a 2*
grin.gif

Dressage.. He came out a bit 'hot' but soon settled and was halfway rideable.. he walked in the walk (not jig joging sideways like last time) and managed the simple changes without getting tense and giving me the wrong lead.. i did however get a bit lost in the canter serpentine
blush.gif
and some how managed to do 5 loops instead of 3
blush.gif
i would have got a 7 for both of those, but both times they were crossed out and i got a 5 which was fair enough, as i got a bit lost
blush.gif
so i got a mark of 68 which was still better than the other times, even with the stupid rider errors.. now all we need is for the horse and my head to be right on the same day
smile.gif
hehe

Show Jumping.. There were only 13 clears out of 71 starters, we had 2 down, one of them being my fault and the other being TOTALLY unfair as it didn't fall down till i'd jumped the next fence, ie along time later!!! Oh well, i guess these things happen, 2 down was still pretty good and i was pleased with the way the round went.. I didn't ride like a retard apart from into the fence i had down, so was really pleased

XC.. i'm still grining now

he was awesome!!! we did have one scary moment at the first water (which had 9 fallers on the sunday alone) it was a steep down hill aproach abc, a) being a big log, 2 strides to b) an upturned bright blue boat, to c) another bright blue boat into the water, he jumped the abc fab. and then stumbled on landing in the water (as alot of others had also done).. Mel (another HHO'er) was watching, so prob. more able to say what happened?? but his head must of gone under as we got very wet, but we stayed together and up we came again to go on and do a FAB clear round.. just under half the field managed clear rounds
smile.gif

I thought i went pretty slowly XC, but i only got 18 time faults, which was pretty good. esp. thinking that i could have gone alot quicker.

I've bought the sequence of 4 pics jumping into the water, nearly falling, and coming back up again with me patting him hahaha
grin.gif
also two pics jumping a huge table
grin.gif

I've also got the DVD on order
grin.gif

I thought i'd buy all this, as some people are coming to look at him on Friday

well done! I went back up and watched on the sunday and that water did seem fairly tricky! Alot of people had alot of SJ down and alot of time faults XC so you did a grand job, the SJ looked HUGE! how high was it?

Congratulations! your xc round sounds brilliant, what a shame about that random act by that sj. Typical!
smile.gif

Well done!!
I thought the 1st water looked tricky, last year it was just the log and then the boat jumping in.

** SJ is only 1.20 but they build it up to height there

well done, a friend of my daughters did the ** also. She got 64 D 4 SJ and clear XC but with more time than you, she is 17 and first event at that level.

Sounds like a great event

Brilliant.

Would love to see the water photos, as it sounds v complicated.

Sorry someone is coming to see him though. You will have to whisper in his ear to be naughty.

I was there too, i thought it was rather a tricky XC. my horse pecked at the fence before the water i lost my stirrup and for the life on me couldn't find it so had to haul him up do a circle and then get him going again, wasted about 20 secs and ended up getting 21time faults, i was so annoyed at myself becos it cost me a placing. o well first time at that level so pleased to complete. Well done on your day.

Angela was there too doing her first CIC**! She got a 55 dressage, 4 SJ (seemed to catch a lot of people that SJ), and clear XC with 25 odd time faults. She was so pleased, but thinks Phil needs to fitten up a bit, bless her she looked absolutely knackered going x-country.

Well done!! Sounds great...hope we get to see the piccies!

Ooo shame about the people coming to view him...feed him a few extra oats

I heard the loudspeaker as Phil was doing her SJing and her XC.. you must be thrilled with her
smile.gif

I must of got Ernie very fit, as he wasn't blowing by the time he got back to the lorry
smile.gif

Am so pleased for you!
Well done. What happened to your lorry though?

So thrilled for you hon.
Whose coming to see him on friday?
frown.gif

Yes tell all about the lorry, just had my mechanic come to see mine, it wasnt the fan belt, worse.... Alternator! argh! i now have NO lorry

not exactly sure.. wheal bearing and or rear drive shaft, which then burst into flames
ooo.gif

A boy who wants to do Jr's is coming on Friday, and i'm not going to be there as have that wedding to go to which is probably a good thing, as i would more than likely burst into tears
frown.gif

Yikes!
But all is okay?

For some reason the drive shaft was removed for us to be towed home, have no idea why.

Pants about friday, actually just as well youre not there.

Ive just got my outfit for the wedding on 30th!

Well done again - you very nearly did go swimming in the first water though!! Poor Ernie, he did a good job to stay on his feet - you weren't the only one to do it though!

As for the retard riding - I didn't see any! And that was SOOOOO unlucky with the plank - I didn't even think he'd touched it!

Have you come down for the buzz of it all yet? Don't think I've ever seen a grin as big as yours after xc!

Nice to read a report where I can feel you smiling as you type it...
Well done for sticking on, it must be al those racehorses leaping about gives you excellent stickabilty!
Sad someone is coming to see him, or are you in agreement?

Well done MdM Shame about SJ but seems like you did very well concidering!!
Also link to pics we want to see too!!

They have to remove the drive shaft as the wheel will be locked up otherwise & just drag rather than tow!
