Am I right in thinking that cider vinegar helps aid mobility / eases stiffness? And can you feed cider vinegar bought from a supermarket or does it have to be one made specifically for horses? Just wondered as I've got some in the cupboard not being used.

I feed lucy my 19 year old mare cider vinegar to aid mobility. I do buy the horse stuff but i find it cheeper than supermarket ones in the long run. I feed her one scoop (the blue scoops you get in other feed suplements) twice a day. She is a 13.2hh welsh cob.

I also think the horse versions are cheaper - I have used the Gold label one and just splashed it in. I previously ordered it from a website (cant remember the name now, but think it was in cornwall - if you google "apple cider vinegar" you should find lots of suppliers) and it came in huge bulk and had the mother in it which is what you need.

Have to say, I didnt notice any difference in the joints or mobility but it did help to disguise the bute in his feed until he wisened up to the fact that it was disguising the bute and he refused to eat again.

I use the NAF one as it works out cheaper than the supermarket version. I give 150ml per day but I suppose it depends on how concentrated it is!

Good grief! I only give 50mls per day, I use several different horsey ones, just depends on which is cheapest at the time but no company has ever recommended feeding more than 80ml!
