Hello!

I am planning on doing 30km Endurance NCR in Cirencester Park end of July and was wondering if anyone is planning on doing it as well as I am going on my own at the moment...
My 14hh gelding is kept less than 3 miles from the start so I have to do it!
I have never done any Endurance before but do lots of fast rides.
He is barefoot+bitless.
For the ones who don't know, NCR (=Non Competitive Ride) is an Endurance pleasure ride and the speed has to be between 8 and 12km per hour (correct me if I'm wrong!)

Please if anyone is interested let me know as we need to register from the 28th of May.

Thanks :-)

Hopefully it hasn't changed, but I did it as an endurance ride about 6 years ago and it's one of the most fabulous rides ever. Loads of gorgeous grassy avenues between the trees, feels as though you can canter forever. Heaven. We are retired now, but I hope you can find someone to go with and have brilliant time. I'm envious.!

I already ride in the park all the time as I only have to cross the road and I'm in it!:-)
The start of the Endurance ride is from near the polo pitches though so around 3 miles away...
Shame you are retired, I though there would be some Endurance riders on this forum but apparently not!

Ask the ride organiser if they can match you up with someone, there will probably be others in your boat, if not someone from the local group who's pleasure riding might be willing to keep you company for your first ride.

Cirencester is a wonderful ride, enjoy!

Thank you, I have emailed the ride organiser few days ago and waiting for a reply:-)

We'll be there with our trade stand (we run a massage tent) but it's too far to take our horses from Yorkshire, unfortunately. Do drop in and say hello though :)

I'm aiming to be there but to do the 30k novice CR, probably on the Sunday.

The lovely thing about endurance is that, even if the organiser can't match you with someone before the date, you will almost certainly "pick up" with someone very quickly on the ride. Endurance really is very friendly.

At the moment, the organiser will be waiting for someone else to contact them with a similar request - nearer the date they will have a much better idea of who is coming.

I am hoping to get into endurance riding - i am not sure where to start! my new horse is 6 and pretty athletic - i think it would suit her. we are still getting to know each other at the moment :)
i am in somerset so cirencester is not too far for me, so i will look out for more details of the park. :)

I might try and do the NCR 16km ride to get an idea of endurance.

I'm doing the 10m fun ride next weekend so will see how she copes with that and then decide after that.

I was going to do the 16km ride as well but I usually do this distance at the weekend-fast ride as well- so don't really see the point in paying to do the same amount of what I do at the weekend in the same place;-)
So will go for 30km, it will give me something to train for with Bilto :-)
If you decide on doing the 30km give me a shout!
I am not going to do the 10miles fun ride next Sunday as it usually is very busy buttt I may go and do some jumps on the Saturday as they will all be there already!

Where about do you keep your horse??

Trust me to choose a busy fun ride for my horses first! Sounds like a good plan to hack around on the Saturday.

I keep my horses in South Glos about 10/15 mins from Junction 18,M4

You'll be fine :-D I have never done the fun ride but last time it was on I was riding in the park and they were lots of horses/riders everywhere!
Though, I'm quite worried for the Endurance as Bilto as never done any kind of competition/shows etc in his 17 year of life and I think he will get VERY excited!
