So we set off yesterday morning in the driving rain thinking that I probably wasn't going to have the best day

It rained all the way there! I went with my friend's Ann and Amy ( amycamycamyc from HHO!).

Ann has Syd and 23yo endurance pony with cushings........a legend in his own lifetime

Amy was riding Adelaide, Ann's other horse who she hadn't ridden before. I said that she would be fine and that Adelaide was lovely. Unfortunately Adelaide was a total BITCH and Amy (a VERY good rider!!) came off twice in the first hour

Anyhoo, at the next set of jumps I insisted she jump on Zoomy so she could at least do some jumping (Adelaide was being waaay too naughty to jump!).

Zoom was really well behaved and Amy liked her alot.

The ground was VERY deep. My photos are pretty crap since Zoom was kept taking off wierdy and catleaping

Not sure if I'll get any since they are not our best.

Kinda missing the jump but she only has one eye so she probably thinks she's in the middle!

The BEST photo of the lot.........me on Adelaide. I love the way she is buggering off/spooking/almost running over the photographer............BUT I'm still trying to smile!!!

Enjoy!

OMG I cant believe you still went.. the weather was awful! I can say with honesty I would have no way gone lol Im a fair weather rider.
Glad you had fun though will have a look at the pics when I get home.

What you doing next ?

Well done for going. We took one look at the weather forecast and decided to chicken out.

Mind, my OH's mare can be 'interesting' to load at the best of times, let alone when it's raining and blowing a gale.

What was the weather like? It doesn't look too bad in the photos.

We arrived at 10.30 and it had stopped raining. It was quite windy when we arrived but by about 11.30 it was a lovely autumn day! The ground was very boggy though, I missed out alot of the jumps since the ground was so deep. It is a nice ride though, we haven't done it before.

haha i had no idea that we were that far over to the right on the barrel jump - no wonder poor zoomy missed if even her rider (with two working eyes) couldn't see the right line. Also, I don't think Ada was that bad... but catching her front legs on the jump early on spooked us both a bit I think so she never really settled after that...
Also, I think the first photo of you and zoom is actually really nice - you should get that one! AND the last one of course!!!
