oh my gosh! I so hope she gets better soon. This is ehy everyone needs to do the race for life and raise loads of money for Cancer reasearch to save ppl from this horrid illness!

My brother and gran have both had similar operations and, while it is a very nasty disease, usually the surgery and radioactive iodine are all that is requirds. From what we have been told it very rarely affects other organs. My brother still looks like he has had his throat cut 10 years later!
I think it's one of the 'better' cancers to have and treatment is more effective/prognosis more hopeful than with many types. That said, I wish her a full and speedy recovery.
