Im looking for boots for my horse, fleece lined brushing boots for flat work and road work. We dont have either of these brands in Australia so im not too familar with them - but they look heaps better to brands we do have! Are clarendon worth the extra expense? or will westropp be just as good for half the cost?

If you really want fleece lined I would try something like N.E.W boots. Both of these ones get rather hot & heavy especially when they get wet.

I am not really familiar with the Westropp ones but Clarendons used to be all the rage over here about 15 years ago, they were one of the first boots with velcro straps that could be washed in the washing machine. Technology has now moved on & the latest boots are much lighter weight. Veterinary investigation has discovered that horse's leg are more injury prone (i.e tendon strain) when they are hot therefore lightweight boots which allow some airflow are considered the way forward.
