As many of you know - poor Clarita might have to retire. Nothing certain, she gets checked out by the vet on Tuesday, could be a case of she is fine, could be only light work or it could be she needs to only eat grass - I just spoke to the owner (with words I am sure I will regret) and said if she needs a retirement home I will have her back' - nothing certain but soon I might have a big dog!

I thought she was going to a permanent retirement home?
I may have misunderstood, but I thought a woman was keeping her in the pasture for the rest of her days.

I hope the outcome is good for her.

Keep us posted.
Where would she stay if she came back with you?

Well not such a bad idea - it will be easy to keep her now considering that your future job is bound to be within a horsey enterprise so surely there will be somewhere to keep her on site...! And if she is only going to be a hack- well she'll make a perfect trainer's hack for you!

What's wrong with her?

She got sick might have complications - might not!

The owner has land, will happily keep her but makes her living off horses, and keeping a useless one (albeit pretty) isn't practical. She would never put Clarita in harms way, but would happily give her to me - cause I would quite like a dog!

Depends where I am - in the US she will stay local, if I am abroad (I have applied to a program which will take me overseas for 2 years) Tia will look after her till I come back.

Is she not suitable for breeding?

She might be - would need to learn a bit more about why she got sick.

I really hope she is 100% and can play - if not it would be nice to have her back as she is so perfectly behaved.

It would be good to have Tia looking after her - not sure she would want to give her back though.
