I want to enter a combined training comp at a great venue. We did it 2 yrs ago and came 2nd due to us jumping clear mainly (as not many others did) back then we had just started doing dressage.

Since then our dressage has really come on but we have had a break of over a year from jumping due Tony pony's bad back and my associated confidence issues after a couple of bad falls.

The class I want to do is 2'3 jumping but the restrictions say 'pair not to have won a prelim test' We won our last prelim back in nov.

I haven't competed since and haven't jumped for over a year and a half. Would it therefore be totally unfair for us to enter this class? The next one up is 2'7 which we are definately not capable of doing at the moment.

Also to add - I'm definately not pot hunting. I'd just be happy to get round the jumping course! It's just a lovely venue and really well run.

If those are the rules, then it would be wrong for you to enter the class without going hors concours. Going HC will still give you the experience and the fun but you won't be being unfair to the other competitors.
