My young horse is entered for a novice hunter trial tomorrow - we're on at 11.50am. It's just to be a schooling round, I've no doubt we'll be eliminated as he's still not confident enough to jump xc jumps he hasn't at least had a sniff of first!
I was then hoping to take him in the pairs class with a friend - however these times have just been published as 6pm! This is quite a long time to be hanging around. It is just a local show - 10/15 minutes in the lorry.
Would you wait around with haynet, assuming that it might be good for him to just chill out and get used to the show atmosphere. Would you leave and go back - let him have a haynet at home? Or just give up on the idea and head home after our first class.
Ideas please!
