Did anyone else go and if so, what were your thoughts? Not sure what I was expecting although I must say I found parts of the day very interesting. Would be interested in other views. PM if you prefer.
Thanks :)

Sounds really interesting.

Is anyone going to the Pine Lodge School of Classical Equitation performance next weds with string quartet near Norwich?

OMG just typed info on the day for you Asterid and I've lost it. Aarrgghhh.

Sorry just had some friends turn up so I'll do it tomorrow.

I went to myerscough on Sunday and found the day most interesting. I was most shocked at Marys approach to the horses and riders she worked with. I felt the first horse (warmblood on forehand) was pushed to the point of unsoundness by her "thrusting" advice and pushing him further out of balance by kicking him forward. Both horse and rider looked uncomfortable....why did she not use shoulder in exercises to engage the hind leg and help lift the shoulder, surely this would have helped lighten the front and increase activity in a kind and gradual way. Her approach to the Lusitano stallion was nothing short of shameful. I have had a horse in the past who never got over an instuctor who approached with the same ecotistical manner, I was so relieved to see Sylvia Loch work him with empathy and understanding...and see him begin to relax and trust his rider again. Any comments anyone?

I wasn't there but I'd love to have been there! Sylvia Loch, Heather Moffett and Mary Wandless all under the same roof - priceless!!

For some reason only just seen your post although I must say I totally agree with your comments. I don't think the owner of the stallion was impressed with Mary's riding and Mary certainly didn't appear happy when Sylvia asked about getting on him.

It came across to me that Heather and Sylvia didn't really agree with some of Mary's methods.

I didn't go, but I love Sylvia's way with horses. They seem so happy to work with her. Just wish she was based down this way!

I was trained classically by my old instructor, but as a result was told by a BHS instructor that they would fail me if I took my ridden part of the stages!:(
