Classical instructors?

But surely any competent instructor would/should be teaching this? I don't see how this makes an instructor "classical" exactly?

I would agree that this should be what happens but from my experience of about 10+ instructors over the years, more often than not it doesn't and the focus is on "bullying" the horse to do what rather than supporting the horse and making it easy for them to work correctly.

My instructor bases her teachings on those of Sylvia Loch and The Classical Seat - hence why I refer to her as a "classical" instructor.
