Does anyone have recommendations for the above? I'm looking for a posh looking rug that wont see much wear but prefer the old fashioned heavy cotton twill or wool rugs as opposed to fleece or thin cotton sheets

I have found a few sites but need a 4'6 rug so struggling with that. the specialist pony sites seem to revolve around multicoloured fleece!

Know what you mean have been looking for a 4'6'' cotton rug for my Grand daughter's sec A in Oz - want something smart for travelling but not fleece as the horses are in 30 plus temp - its just to keep the pony covered from the flies but also look nice/smart for PC events :)
Am really struggling here -Def an openeing in the market;))

I ended up with a secondhand Melton day rug and a Thermatex lightweight rug

Oxford Hill rugs Woyld have been next on my list though as they can make a Melton wool rug in small sizes

*would*

Just seen your comment about the heat. Try Pint Size Ponywear, really nice lady who made me a towelling Hoodie - i bet she could run something up for you in cotton

I got a lovley wool rug from a car boot sale the other week for £5. It's quite old (roughly 20 years old!) but it does the job.

My friend has:

She only uses it for shows though but it does look lovely.

Regarding the cotton rugs my old horse used to have a lovely Masta cotton sheet until some one stole it :(. It was a lovley rug and was very hard wearing (he used to test his rugs to the limit and this rug showed little signs of wear and tear.)

Both of my current horses have a weatherbeeta cotton sheet and I am very impressed with them. They are very smart but they are also well made and hard wearing.
