I havent read the rest of last nights thread becaiuse most of it disgusts me. but just so we are all clear here is the following information.
1. at badminton the horse (kown for being somewhat lazy) pulled a shoe jumping through the pond. Obviously clayton ouldnt know this for sure and gave the horse a smack as he started to slow up. Please note that when the horse stopped there was NO ATTEMPT to continue as i am told the horse had lost a fair bit of hoof and this was immeditely apparent.
2. At Saumur the incident happened very early on the course ( i was told by someone there) between fences two and three so clayton would hardly have been ragging it at that point.
3 the horses way of going always makes it look like hard work because he IS hard work! The type who does what is required, just enough.
Although it is currently believed the horse just slipped and fell, on the sand at saumur, this is quite unusual and the exact cause will not be known if ever until the PM is carried out.
4. Having had a fall of that nature at speed, instead of bitching and trying to lay blame perhaps we should all be a little thankful that Clayton walked away from it.
