Hi!
I have a pony who rolls a lot and lies in her poo at night- and se is grey. I go to pc things and clean her the night before. However the next day she is very dirty...
Does anyone know anything good to clean a grey pony with?
Please help!!

I have two greys and a coloured of my own, and one season I had eight greys to get ready for hunting four times a week.

My tricks are -

Wahl Diamond White Shampoo - wet horse all over, put a blob of shampoo on a dandy brush, and scrub all over before rinsing. Then do tail with your hands.

Reckitts Blue - you can buy this from hardware stores. Dissolve one cube in a bucket of hot water, as hot as you can cope with. Sponge all over after washing to really bring out the grey, and then on the day dissolve half a cube in half a bucket of equally hot water and sponge over any stable stains. It takes a bit of elbow grease but it works wonders.

Norwegian Mud Tails - if your grey always manages to make her tail truly rank over night then wash it, brush it through with Canter Mane and Tail Conditioner, and then plait it. Start the plait about three inches below the end of the dock, and then plait all the way down to the bottom. Secure with a band, and then split the hair in the section you left between the dock and the plait into two, and loop the plait up through the hole. Then take some vetwrap and loop a strand of that through the hole over the plait, then wrap it round the looped up plait as if you were doing a tail bandage, without wrapping the dock. Secure it with bandage tape, take off in the morning and brush through and your tail will be immaculate!

This^^ I do a first wash with Alberto Balsam tea tree shampoo only £1 and it works amazing, gets them so shiny and clean then rinse and wash again with wahl diamond white, just to make sure he is gleaming:D
Please dont use fairy liquid:o it is for dirty greasy dishes not horses its far to harsh on their skin, i would never touch it for my horse tbh.

Ok, thanks! :)
And You Won't Forget Me some other people have suggested fairy liquid and like you say I would never use it! It is to harsh on their skin and it will make them itch!!

Only if you don't rinse it out thoroughly. What do you think we did before horse shampoos? They all survived.
