I have been trying to get my mare clean in time for showing this year.

She is stained and not shiney at all!

Has anyone any good products/ tips that will whiten/shine the coat and get rid of stains?!

Are any of the shine sprays, whitening products and stain removers worth buying ( bearing in mind they are £10 a bottle.

Supreme blue rinse had works really well I've heard, using after shampoo. As for cleaning, scrub scrub scrub with a body brush, using Net-tex stain removing spray, then use Gallop's stain removing shampoo, using as much elbow grease as possible. It might take several shampoos, but only use the blue rinse as a whitener and shiner in the final rinse once the stain is gone! Good luck! xx

ETA: I've also found Tesco Basic bath foam really good. It's blue, smells wonderful, and seriously, works wonders on coloureds! Never found a horse allergic either. However, Gallop does give a bit more of a shine and softness, but price wise seriously, the tesco is just as good, and to add shine I'd just use the blue rinse! :) xx

I have four greys and a coloured to conquer.
I start with a good curry combing, then Absorbine Superpoo or Gallop for greys, dry out under solarium, then apply Showshine. For tails Sterodent tablets are great, after dryind spray liberally with Nettex 7 days Mud Away.
For last minute shine I use hot water with a splash of Dettol and hot cloth the coat.
