I bought a new pair of Dubarry Galway boots in January and I have been so very good with them! They are strictly town/shooting boots and my 5 year old pair are all things horsey however they are still pretty scuffed (I can't really drive my manual RR in them cause they are half a size too big so the toes are nice and scuffed from my pedals). I have all the Dubarry cleaning stuff cause I am determined to clean them properly as my old pair were cleaned with tack cleaner however I don't really have any idea how to?!

I'm just a bit confuzzled as what can be used on the leather and what can be used on the treated leather? A friend of mine uses a suede brush to clean the treated leather and just sprays the protecting spray on to rewaterproof them every now and then but I really messed the treated leather on my old pair by treating them with tack oil so I want to do this properly.

And as a side note I am at the Norfolk Game Show at the weekend, do you think I could bribe the guys on the Dubarry stall to clean them for me?? :D

Thankyou so much in advance! Yummy norwegian chocolate for all that help from my lovely housemate <3

I have the galways as my dirty worn ones, and OH bought me some Clares for best. I use the dubarry leather stuff I have for my hand bag, but if you use it on the goretex it stains it a darker colour, I think dubarry sell special goretex care products though.

Wash off the Shi* leave to dry a bit Dubarry Cleaner once in a While then use plenty of Dubarry protector & Conditioner I also use Nic Wax same thing without paying for Dubarry name I use the brown Nic Waxto keep the foot part a good deep colour Mine 2.5 years old and have just been re-soled excelent Customer Service.:D

Pleased you've put this thread up op. I bought a pair of galways last sept at burghley and wasn't as good as you, despite saying they'd be worn for best! Iv been traipsing through the fields in them (yes, in all this mud, I hose them off each day!) but they're looking quite sorry for themselves!! I did buy some leather cleaner from belton the other week but after an hour they look trashed again! May have to get some special dubarry products!!

I just hose mine down and occasionally use kiwi shoe polish as I thought the bare leather scuffs might leak if I don't use something to help look after the leather.
