Cleaning hooves

Hi everyone,
I'm kinda new to all of this but I was wondering, if you don't ride a horse and they spend most of their time in the field, how often should you clean their hooves? Thank you!

If they are unshod you don't normally have to pick out the feet every day unless there has been a problem.
All horses need to be checked carefully on a daily basis, twice a day you should make sure they are OK as though some of them are accident prone, they can all get in to difficulty.
Shod horses need feet picked out daily as stones can easily get trapped.
